Hi! I'm Maja Wendelin, an Amsterdam-based aspiring Frontend Developer and Designer, currently looking for an internship.
I like experimenting with different ways in which we can interact with the internet. I love using the web as a creative space to express myself.
I'm also a big advocate for web accessibility, and have worked on a few projects with and for people with a visual impairment.
I want the web to be a space for diversity and creativity, and I hope to make a mark in the world by working on this goal.

This is a project I made for a subject called "CSS to the rescue".
The point of the subject was to create a walking animation by using new CSS features and absolutely no JavaScript.

This was my first attempt at making a Screenreader friendly portrait of myself, made for the minor Web Design and Development.

This is a website catered to one specific person, who is my case is a blind man called Ihab.
I made this game over the course of a few weeks and several feedback sessions with Ihab, to ensure usability and FUN!!

An incredibly heavy and non optimalized website for the satellite "NEBULA Xplorer"
This website was created in a team of 4 for a Hackathon.
We competed in creating a website for a student-lead SRON project for the satellite "NEBULA Xplorer".
We did not win, but we did make some cool animations!
An incomplete Dungeons and Dragons character builder.
This website was an assignemnt for the minor Web Design and Development to work with APIs.
As a fan of Dungeons and Dragons, I wanted to create my own character builder, but so far I have maybe a 10% of everything I would need for its completion.

This was my final project for the minor Web Design and Development.
This website was created in a team of 4, and is currently still being worked on.
The point was to create a website for a real customer.
In the website we had bring alive glossary items relating to our customers research by creating typographic animations!
An archive website for a photographer.
This is an ongoing freelance project that I am working on.
I custom programmed a WordPress theme for a photographer who wanted to create an online archive for himself.

I created this custom WordPress theme for the website of my parents martial arts dojo.

Helping with accessibility work on, among other things, the Baden Airpark Website.
Within the course of an internship I did at Nova Digital, I got to work on the accessibility on a number of their websites.
The most extensive work I did was on the Baden Airpark website.
I did an accessibility audit that I also presented to the customer, and then helped on implementing some of the changes (the nature of which I am not allowed to share 🙂).
